Art historian Jeff Mishur joins us to share the work of award-winning artist Faith Ringgold with a focus on Ringgold's painted story quilts. Learn about her works pertaining to important themes, including the challenges faced by women artists, the relationship between "fine art" and "craft," and African American history.

Faith Ringgold is an American painter, writer, mixed media sculptor and performance artist, best known for her narrative quilts. She lives and works in Englewood, New Jersey. Ms Ringgold is professor emeritus at the University of California, San Diego where she taught art from 1987 until 2002. Professor Ringgold is the recipient of more than 75 awards including 22 Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degrees. Learn more about her at faithringgold.com
