Event Description

Ancestor Approved: Intertribal Stories for Kids edited by Cynthia Leitich Smith

Join our tween book club for a fun afternoon of discussion and activities. This collection of interconnected short stories follows Native families (and a scrappy Rez dog!) from different Nations as they gather at an intertribal powwow in Michigan to dance, sing, eat fry bread, and celebrate their heritage. Gina Roxas will be joining us from the Trickster Cultural Center to share regalia and clips of different styles of powwow dance.  For grades 4–6.REGISTER

Pick up a copy of the book at the Kids' World desk.

This program is presented as part of One Book, One Village.

Safety precautions in place according to current, local mitigation guidelines. To request accessibility accommodations, please contact us at 847-392-0100 or accessibility@ahml.info prior to the program.
