Current Opportunities

English as a Second Language Tutor

Are you patient, welcoming and looking for a meaningful way to connect with others in our community? Do you want the flexibility to volunteer when it is convenient for you? If so, please consider volunteering as an English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor.

ESL tutors meet one-on-one with an adult learner to help them improve their conversational English skills. Our greatest need is for tutors who are available weekday evenings after 5 p.m. or Saturday mornings. Each tutoring session is one hour and is scheduled based on mutual tutor and learner availability. Volunteers do not need to speak another language or have prior teaching experience.

Coaches assist the instructor with lessons from standard materials developed by library staff on iOS/Apple mobile devices.
