Join us for this program in person or virtually via Zoom. Presented as part of Violins of Hope.

This nationally acclaimed performance honors the world of Anne Frank and young people during the Holocaust. Bear witness to history and experience World War II through a dynamic combination of live theater and archival film footage. Performed by Elgin Kelley, who started working with Living Voices in 2008. She studied theatre at Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Drew University. This performance is for families.

This event is presented in partnership with JCC Chicago, Arlington Heights Memorial Aurora Public Library, Gail Borden Public Library, Joliet Public Library, Schaumburg Township District Library, Skokie Public Library, and Vernon Area Public Library. Presented as part of Violins of Hope: a collection of 70 string instruments played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust that have been painstakingly restored, now touring Chicagoland libraries, museums, and cultural institutions with a message of hope, resistance, resilience, and unity.

A selection of violins will be on display at Arlington Heights Memorial Library August 7 through September 7.
