Event Description

Read New Kid by Jerry Craft and then join us to play a few games, discuss with other tweens, and learn how to make your own notebook.

Fitting in is a struggle for any middle schooler, but being the new kid is extra tough for Jordan.  Hardly any of the other students at his new private school look like him, and he would much rather be at art school practicing his drawing. Read or listen to this award winning graphic novel on Hoopla.

Here are some supplies you will need for the program:

  • any book
  • computer or loose leaf paper
  • staples from a regular stapler
  • scissors
  • thumbtack or pushpin
  • brown paper grocery bag (or one sheet of scrapbook paper if you have it)

Since this program is online, please be sure to register with the best email for us to send an invite to our virtual programming space. If you need help joining the program, please email kids@ahml.info or chat with us online.
