Event Description

If you’ve ever wondered why — and when — specific car maintenance tasks are necessary, this is the event for you. In “The Why’s and When’s of Car Maintenance” automotive educator Chaya Milchtein of Mechanic Shop Femme will go over everything from how often you actually need to change your oil, to what coolant even does in your car (and why it has to be changed). Everything will be explained in easy-to-understand language: not mechanic talk!

About Chaya & Mechanic Shop Femme

Founded in 2017, Mechanic Shop Femme is an education and empowerment platform. On her blog and social media, Chaya shares video tutorials and educational automotive tidbits intertwined with plus size fashion, travel, and queer love. Offering automotive education that is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience, is the core of Chaya's work.

"Chaya isn’t a car educator writing a blog post about why proper car maintenance is essential; she’s a queer car educator writing that post. By asserting herself - her identity - in a space commonly hostile to such identities, Chaya is helping to make the automotive world a safer and more pleasant one for everyone involved." - Car Talk
