Harry Potter Book Night came back and was better than ever on Thursday, February 7 with 596 wizards and Muggles showing up for a fun, spellbinding evening to celebrate all things Harry Potter. Many came dressed up in Harry Potter-themed costumes, ready to take part in all of the activities taking place throughout the library including Diagon Alley, Quidditch matches with Lumos Quidditch, the Sorting Hat and Harry Potter trivia. Harry Potter Book Night is a one-day international event with celebrations taking place around the globe.

Every January, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library hosts a Preschool and Childcare Information Night. Directors and teachers from Arlington Heights, as well as surrounding areas, gather to share information about their programs. Some even have summer camp options for school age children.

Students from the local homeschool co-op H.E.A.R.T. recently created more than 150 personalized bookmarks for our Library Delivery Services, which takes books, and other library items, to Arlington Heights residents who are homebound and unable to visit the library in person. Sixteen students worked together to create the beautiful bookmarks including the Payne sisters of Arlington Heights. In a letter to the recipients, 9-year-old Adley Payne wrote:
